Energy Efficiency & Conservation Policy

SEMIRARA MINING & POWER CORPORATION is committed to reducing energy consumption across its activities, processes, and operations in line with sustainable development. We strive to provide quality products and services that align with our business goals and environmental objectives through efficient energy use. We aim to achieve this by:

• Installing and maintaining energy efficiency measures through implementation of an appropriate and effective energy conservation program and the integration of Energy Management System in the company's existing management systems.
• Appointing an Energy Manager to act as its point person in relation to energy efficiency and conservation initiatives and programs.
• Establishing and maintaining an Energy Committee to implement and enact energy management action plans effectively.
• Instilling in its employees a sense of responsibility on energy efficiency measures by ensuring awareness and maintenance of the needed competencies.
• Using and implementing relevant technologies, practices, and methodologies that contribute to our energy efficiency and conservation targets.
• Reviewing and enhancing energy performance without compromising product quality and services by regularly reviewing its business processes to seek energy efficiency improvement opportunities.
• Complying with legislation and regulations that are relevant to our operations.
• Supporting any national and local energy efficiency and conservation programmes.
• Integrate sustainable and responsible practices into our operations through energy efficiency and/or adapting applicable global climate action efforts towards a resilient economy.

This policy shall be communicated to all employees and those working on its behalf, as well as visitors and relevant stakeholders. They are in turn encouraged to report issues or concern that led to or will lead to issues and/or deviation from these commitments to the Management Team without fear of repression, reprimand or intimidation.
