Gotianun named SMPC OIC

Semirara Mining and Power Corporation (SMPC) has appointed Executive Vice President Maria Cristina Gotianun as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) to replace its late president and chief operating officer Victor Almeda Consunji.

“On account of the vacancy [resulting from] the demise of [Consunji], the board of directors resolved at its special meeting held today, Jan. 4, 2019, the appointment of Maria Cristina C. Gotianun…as officer-in-charge,” SMPC told the Philippine Stock Exchange on Friday.

The appointment came more than a week after Consunji succumbed to pancreatic cancer on December 27, 2018. He was 68.

The 63-year-old Gotianun was also appointed OIC by the respective boards of SMPC units SEM-Calaca Power Corporation and Southwest Luzon Power Generation Corporation.

She was the Director and Corporate Secretary of Dacon Corporation; Vice President for Finance and Administration / Chief Finance Officer of D.M. Consunji Inc.; and Finance Director of DMC-Project Developers Inc.

Gotianun was also Director and Treasurer of Semirara Claystone Inc., Semirara Energy Utilities Inc., St. Raphael Power Generation Corporation, SEM- Balayan Power Generation Corporation, DMCI Power Corporation, DMCI Masbate Power Corporation, and SEM-Cal Industrial Park Developers Inc., as well as dDirector of Daveprime Holdings Inc.

She graduated with a BS Business Economics degree at the University of the Philippines.
